Fitness Trainer

Rep1 has recruited Jenna from the other side of Canada – Nova Scotia! Having over 15 years of experience in the industry, we pushed to bring her to Vancouver, and we used our beautiful city as the selling point (and our amazing clients, of course!). Jenna Theberge was born on Cape Breton Island and was an East Coaster all her life. She played sports from a young age and eventually focused solely on basketball at a high level. Besides crushing a deadlift in the gym, running is this girl’s main activity. We don’t actually know if she runs fast though because no one has ever seen her run; she goes at 3am!!!! Now that Jenna is settled in, she is focused on exploring her new city, the restaurants, and enjoying a good margarita… Welcome to the West Coast (and the best coast!), Jenna!

What is your favorite piece of fitness equipment?
Squat rack – so multifunctional!
One of your early life accomplishments was?…
I was always very competitive from an early age. When I was in grade 4, I won a basketball skills competition, beating out all the higher grades (5 through 7), and taking first place! If you ain’t first, you’re last!
If you weren’t a personal trainer, what would you do?
I’d be a doctor. It falls in line with the whole health and well-being field, and I love the science behind how our bodies work. Perhaps I’d be a plastic surgeon though; any way to transform the human body is incredibly interesting to me.
What was your first job? And what did you learn at that job?
My first job was delivering newspapers at a campground that I grew up at. In hindsight it taught me that everything I hated as a child would someday become what I strive for: early mornings, a sense of accomplishment, and being reliable. There was no Internet back in my day so if no one got their newspapers, no one knew what was going on in the world. I had to be on point and I now take pride in being someone people are able to rely on.
Your favorite Superhero is?…
The only real superhero I can think of is my mom; we call her Mother Therese, or Mo T, because she’s always been my saviour. To have the strength and patience to handle myself and my friends growing up…and to this day – she definitely has some superhuman powers and abilities!
What was your favorite toy as a kid?
Pretty sure I had a huge thing for Barbie Dolls and that huge Dream House!
What is the one thing that nobody knows you can do?
Hmmmm this is an interesting one. I’m pretty good at keeping secrets but if there’s anything super cool that I can do, I’m sure everyone knows about it already!
Your favorite vacation spot is
When it comes to variety I don’t have much in my travels, although I have family in the Bahamas so I tend to go visit them quite often. Some of my favourite places have been secluded beaches on the smaller islands of the Bahamas. I’ve had some epic times on Rose Island, Eleuthera, Bimini, Blue Lagoon, and Paradise Island-the name says it all!
I love island time!
