Take The Time!

Taking time to do the “extra” is usually not one of the priorities with regards to our training regime but it is one of the most important! What is the “extra”?  It’s taking and making time to take care of our bodies, stretching protocol, foam rolling, massage, physio and sleep are all examples of the “extra”! […]

Stand Up Paddle Boarding

On a beautiful Sunday afternoon, some coworkers and I went down to Jericho to try out paddle boarding. I had never done it before, but the other three had and it was quite evident! The waves were a bit choppy but we spent about 2hrs out on the water and had a fabulous time. It […]

Grouse Grind

Last weekend, Krista and I (as well as her fiance and two friends) drove out to North Vancouver to do the Grouse Grind. I had only done it twice before and never timed myself so this trip was all about setting a baseline time for completion! Krista’s goal for the trip was a bit different: […]

Porteau Cove Nutrition

Here is a picture of my stats from my Porteau Cove ride this weekend.  The biggest thing that I can say, as you start to do longer summer rides, is to make sure your nutrition is in check!  Bonked on the way home and it seriously affected my average speed.  Electrolytes in the water and […]

Make-A-Wish

The Make-A-Wish Foundation has given us two of the children’s stories that we directly affected last year.  After raising over $30,000 for children with life threatening illnesses it is good to see where that money went.  The stories are posted in Rep1 so check them out when you come in the door!

Ride #2

The weather has changed and I’ve been back on my bike in Squamish for my second ride of the year!  The dry trails were great and I had no problems on some of the more technical spots. Thankfully there were no wipe outs to test the repaired shoulder but all felt great!  Now if only […]

Happiness

This past week, Lorea and I went to see a massage therapist who recently launched her own business. I have only ever been to one other massage therapist and was decently pleased. This woman, Laurie, was amazing. She immediately identified that my spine curves to the left, something I was unaware of, and she was […]

How Far We Have Come

On Saturday April 13th, we had a Rep1 team meeting. The purpose was to bring everyone together and to discuss Rep1’s Vision and Core Values. Prepping for, and speaking about our vision took me back to 2008-09 when Scott, Chad, and I were having a lot of secret meetings to discuss what we wanted in […]

New Rep1 Spin Posters

Are you a true Rep1 spin loyalist? If so, you will have noticed the new spin posters we put up this week!  We are all around the city with our colors!!  Thank you to the Poster Guy for helping us get our name out there.

Workout Music

Do you need motivation to get yourself to the gym or to continue your workout when fatigue starts to set in? A new study was recently released describing the best motivational music and it all has to do with the number of beats per minute in the song! Apparently a song with 125-140 beats per […]

Iona

It was ugly out there.  My HR was 164+, my watts were 321 and my speed was 41.9km/hr.  This would all be ok if I didn’t have a tailwind!  I need to work harder in spin class!  The flats at Iona can be tough if you’re not used to them.

Riding

So, went riding with Scott on Friday.  Had a good time but realized that after a punishing spin class in the morning all I should do is an easy spin and stretch.  It was a great Vancouver day but the intervals of the class that morning left nothing in the legs.  I also realized I […]
